About the designer

Julie is a self-taught jewellery designer / maker based in Derby, England, producing bold yet classic jewellery suitable for all occasions.

After having spent 6½ years in Metallurgy (gaining an HNC in Metallurgical Studies at Derby College of Further Education), 4 years in Business Improvement and 19 years in Manufacturing Engineering / Quality, She had the option of taking Voluntary Redundancy in 2008, which led to the resurrection of her passion for making jewellery.

Inspired by nature, Julie loves using semi-precious beads and freshwater pearls that give uniqueness in their colouring and patterning and add a contemporary feel with the use of crystals and glass. Her earlier interest in Metallurgy means She also has a fondness for metals, particularly silver, which are used extensively in her creations.

All the jewellery shown on this website is designed and made by Julie herself using high quality materials, and complies with the legal standards of the Hallmarking Act 1973. Julie's Sponsors mark 'JW' is registered with, and held at, the Birmingham Assay Office.
